Berkeley, and her M.A. from California State University, Sacramento, where she took art classes from some of the big names in the Western School: Neri, Thiebaud, Arneson, Gilhooly, de Forest. Later, she took a couple of workshops from local water-colorists and a community education class in oil painting. In the last two years she has taken workshops with Frank Webb and with her inspiration, Ron Ranson. Since 2004, she has been an art instructor for Shasta College Weaverville Extension, art Instructor in Trinity County K-12 schools for past 15 years and and she also teaches private painting classes. Watercolor, book publishing. Evelyn holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in Art/Art History and K-12 and Community College teaching credentials.

QUILTERS ART STUDIO (Downtown Hayfork, across from Wiley's Grocery) is operated by some of the members of Log Cabin Quilters Guild. They have a long-armed quilting machine that they sometimes give demos of.

MOUNTAIN VOICES: (Tamara Jenkinson: 629-2614, 629-3488, Willow Creek) - Group of poets from up and down both the Trinity and Klamath Rivers. They meet on third Thursday each month at Big Foot Books from 5:30-7:30pm and organize more or less quarterly performance gatherings. They have friends from far and wide and many of the poets have developed web-based support networks for themselves that include poets from all over the world.

623-4349, Weaverville) - Resident artist John Garrett has been an art instructor to both school children in Trinity County and adults in his popular ceramics classes. John brings fun and a casual freedom to his classes, thus compelling students to return year after year. John will guide you to think outside the box and create fabulously original designs. You’ll meet wonderful classmates and enjoy a relaxing environment that will lift your spirits and calm your psyche. His art mediums include: ceramic sculpture and fountains, collage, Batik, handmade paper, printmaking, mixed media, recycled media sculpture, graphic design. John Garrett teaches 2 ceramics classes at Studio G behind Highland Art Center (off of Center Street): beginning and advanced. Emphasis on hand-building, moldmaking, slip-casting, and other types of clay constructions will be covered. Fee for entire series of classes covers all firing and glazes. Class size limited.

EVELYN MERCER WARD / WATERCOLOR PAINTING CLASSES: (778-3305, jeward@shasta.com, Lewiston) - Evelyn received her B.A. in art and art history at U.C. Davis and U.C. Berkeley, and her M.A. from California State University, Sacramento, where she took art classes from some of the big names in the Western School: Neri, Thiebaud, Arneson, Gilhooly, de Forest. Later, she took a couple of workshops from local watercolorists and a community education class in oil painting. In the last two years she has taken workshops with Frank Webb and with her inspiration, Ron Ranson. She has been an art instructor for Shasta College, as well as an a rt Instructor in Trinity County K-12 schools and she now teaches private painting classes. Evelyn holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in Art/Art History and K-12 and Community College teaching credentials.
