After raising three sons, Janys began a career as an art and literary agent for a group of painters, known as the Classic Realists. The Classic Realist school of art is the oldest tradition in existence today, tracing their roots to Michelangelo. As agent, Janys directed art exhibitions for her group, in Dallas and Houston. She also worked as creator and agent for Realism in Revolution: The Art of the Boston School, a book that was published and marketed by Taylor Publishing.

Janys has been sculpting for about eight years. She began by creating a Twigster Santa, on a whim.  She has continued creating various Twigster characters, western and other.  She has also created life-sized busts.
