HAYFORK: TRINITY SOUP KITCHEN provides a hot meal weekly on Mondays 11am-2pm at Solid Rock Christian Fellowship (corner of Tule Creek Road & Highway 3). There are plenty of opportunities to help out with cash or food donations, food preparation or serving. Donations are tax-deductible. HAYFORK - INDIVIDUALIZED COMPUTER LESSONS BY APP'T at Hayfork Library. Diane Yates offers FREE 1-hour sessions to introduce new and non-computer users to Internet and basic computer usage. JUST ADDED! WEAVERVILLE - NORCAL KNIT & CROCHET CLUB MEETING at Sweet Sheep Yarn (515 Main Street) 6-8pm. NorCal Knit and Crochet Club is open to anyone with an interest in knitting and crochet, as well as other forms of needlework. They are members of Knitting Guild of America and Crochet Guild of America. Sweet Sheep Yarn is situated in historic district on Main Street in a building that was built in 1855. The architecture is perfect for displaying yarn as the floor to ceiling shelves that were hand-carved before the 1900s are still intact. They start selling on Tuesdays later in the season, when there is enough produce to sell on 2 days a week. They also sell produce at WEEKLY FARMER'S MARKET 4-7pm on Fridays at same location. LEWISTON - UNIQUE BOUTIQUE LEWISTON SPARKIES THRIFT STORE is open in lower level of Community Center 10am-2pm. Also open SAT: 10-2pm. Check out their high quality new arrivals in clothing, best seller books, home decor and many other items. $1 a bag table is packed full, and there are baskets full of kids items priced at .25 each. DOUGLAS CITY - FREE COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE LUNCHEON/SOUP KITCHEN at DC Fire Hall 1am-1:15pm. Four Trinity County churches have joined forces (St. Patrick's Catholic, Trinity Congregational, First Baptist Weaverville, and Church of Nazarene) to provide food and drinks for the needy. Diners may take meal home for later and volunteers will deliver to sick, elderly, and homebound. Carol Arthur extends an invitation for everyone to come and enjoy the meals. Cash or food donations to support the program can be directed to Carol Arthur at 623-3927. Other churches that wish to become involved would be welcomed with open arms.

WEAVERVILLE - COMMUNITY BAND REHEARSAL at Weaverville Elementary School music room at 6pm. Community band is now offered as part of Shasta College outreach program in Weaverville. The course, Music 302, Symphonic Band for Seniors is open to musicians of all ages. Band members must have at least one year's experience on their instrument and be able to read music.
