THE MOSTLY STRINGBAND - Updated April 10, 2012

The Mostly
                Stringband

THE MOSTLY STRINGBAND disbanded in July 2011, after playing together for almost 6 years. We formed out of musicians who regularly attended a weekly acoustic jam over a period of almost 2 years. Our repertoire covered many genres: originals, standards and Tin Pan Alley songs, Gypsy Jazz and swing, waltzes and old-time, with a little Celtic and Cajun. The band featured Hal Oleari, Sherri Whitham, Rachel Anderson, and David Menefee performing on guitar, mandolin, resonator guitar, fiddles, banjos, ukulele, standup bass, accordion, and vocals! Previous members included John Tiedeman who left the band because he moved to Redding; Mike Crowley; and Carl Anderson.

Hal Oleari is now performing with Sabor, a latin-based band. Members include Hal on electric bass and vocals, Bo Kimball on keyboards and vocals, Brian Vaughan on congas, Diana Losk on vocals, Roger Rehders on trombone, and Mike Crowley on flute and percussion, as his schedule permits. If you are interested in attending a future musical performance of Sabor, or having them perform at your event, please call Hal at 778-9855. They have weekly practices where you can hear them play.

Rachel Anderson and Dave Menefee are now performing with All Wheel Drive whom started playing together in Autumn 2011. Band features Kathy Clark (Hosmer) on ukuleles and vocals, Han Joachim on guitar, harmonica, and vocals, Rachel Anderson on fiddle, ukulele, banjo, and vocals, and Dave Menefee on standup bass. Both Kathy and Hans are prolific songwriters, so the band plays mostly originals. All Wheel Drive has performed at The Salmon Festival at Highland Meadow; Artists in Action on Main Street in Weaverville; Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Hayfork; Baristas Coffee Roasting in Redding; and numerous times at Mamma Llama Eatery & Cafe. See our Facebook page.

Sherri Whitham is now performing with Soul Kitchen, on keyboards. Soul Kitchen also has a different bass player. They will be back playing in public in Spring of 2012. If you are interested in attending a future musical performance of Soul Kitchen, or having them perform at your event, contact Kenny Breeze or Lou Rosse.

If you are interested in jamming with Dave and Rachel in Hayfork, call Rachel or Dave at 628-4579 or email Rachel. We are interested in playing old time, standards, Tin Pan Alley songs, Gypsy Jazz, swing, folk, Celtic and Cajun. You may see us occasionally at the Open Mikes at Northern Delights, every other Friday night.
